Free stuff

Mon May 11, 2009, 5:57 AM
So....
I am notoriously bad at finishing much of anything. And maybe this will kick me in the butt to get stuff done. That and I have a small slump of time that I can commit to doing art and that I'd prefer not to spend sitting in front of my computer watching episodes of House that I've already seen.

So yeah.
Essentially here's the deal:

Give me an idea and I'll come up with a solution to it;
It can be as simple as giving me a theme or word, or as complex as giving me a semi-fleshed out story that I can panel out, or even give me reference of your original characters, or your favorite characters. I could do portrait comissions, caricature comissions... I just want to draw.

Honestly, I don't care too terribly much. And so long as postage isn't going to kill my wallet I'm cool with sending it out to you; and if it would kill my wallet then I'd hope we could split on the postage, or something.

I get to choose the media, the scale and all that stuff; but it will likely be no larger than 9"x12" and no smaller than 3"x4".

I don't expect there to be a huge amount of a response but if there is I'd likely cut it off for now at 10 freebies.

Uh.... I think that about raps it up.

Considering that I will be working full time starting next week and work on my two days off I hope you don't expect a super rapid response on these... but I'll do my best. My motto is: "If you don't have enough hours in the day; stay up an hour later and get up an hour earlier."

Rock on,

Ed

Hey, love your style...I just wanted to know how you get such a good likeness, so quickly (presumably) without your subject realising you're reeeaaally looking at them!
I'm always really paranoid they're gonna bag me out for being some crazy staring weirdo - or is that just England?!

I am a screenwriter currently shopping a sci-fi pilot in the vain of LOST to alot of heads in New York and Hollywood. I would like to get an artist into unsettling imagery kind of like The Sandman series to work on adapting this pilot into a graphic novel. If there is anyone interested please hit me back...if you live in New York it would be very helpful for obvious reasons,but I would entertain working with someone outside the state.

Beautiful gallery! I love the way you exaggerate the forms. Any tips when it comes to life drawing?
